New journal love

Hello out there, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great! On Saturday I met Samantha Kira Harding for coffee and I really look forward to our Saturday meetings, it's someone else who gets just as excited about fabric that you die cut or a new paint color you bought or a new product that's come out. We went to Goodwill and I got a neat apron pattern for 50 cents and a small binder for a project I am going to do soon! We also went to a local art store and I got some pastels a new copic and some 4x6 canvases! Sunday I felt crappy and sat and watched movies on the couch with the puppies and my wife! I started a new journal and it has such good JUJU compared to my last one! It's a journal Samantha made and did not want so yay for me that she did not want it! I also started the note card a day project and am having a blast with that! Alright enough chit chat onto the pictures!

The first note card I made it is so much brighter in person! It says "find beauty in the ordinary"

Another note card!  The hearts are made from sticker paper (meant to print on) that I put through my Cuttlebug and painted!

Mini journal page for my wife <3

Well I hope you are all doing well, you will be seeing some changes on the blog and new things going up and such! So stay tuned!

xoxo

Buttons and Fabric oh MY!

I have been an art quilting fool for the lest week, I love it! It's making me a better sewer and finally starting to use all of the felt and fabric I have! So it took me a week to do one and then two days for two! I highly recommend trying it, I am going to make more and possibly sell them on Etsy once I get better! If you make Art quilts I would love to see them feel free to post a link to your blog! Here are the ones I have made which were all given to my wife for her birthday yesterday!

They are not the best pictures but my wife hung them up as soon as we got home from dinner!

So last week I challenged you to use something from your kitchen in your art journal, I used salt and a straw and it came out pretty cool!

Samie Kira let me use her white sharpie on this page and then I sewed on it as well! If you tried this challenge I would love to see your results!

Alright tomorrow I will have a small video for you as well as another art journaling challenge so please check back then!!!

Adventurous Thursdays!

Hello hello everybody! I have totally abandoned my 30 days of blogging but I am back and I will make up for those two days at the end. So my journal has two pages left in it and then I have to decorate the cover and I promised myself I would send it into the Art Journaling magazine, let me tell you I am really nervous! I don't know what's going to happen, I don't know if I am good enough to get into the magazine but it is worth a try! The worst that can happen is that they say no.....

Alright so I am starting something new called Adventurous Thursdays where I dare myself and all of you lovely readers to try something different and then post your results! So this week I DARE you to use something from your kitchen! I will try this tomorrow and post my results! Please feel free to play along!

Alright last but not least two journal pages I finished today!

It says- I've left the past and all of my mistakes behind me, and what did I find? Myself

Don't be afraid to fly!
Alright well that is all for tonight! I will see you tomorrow!

Oh Deer! day 2 of 30

I hope everyone is having a great night! So today I actually HAVE some pretty things (well I think so) for you all to look at! Tomorrow I will be doing a vlog for you all and next week I will have a very big announcement for you all! Lots to look forward to!

I love this page for two special reasons, a few of my kids in my class painted it for me AND it is about my little puppy Dellah who turned four last week! We actually had a doggie birthday party with cake for the dog's and all! Samantha Kira brought her two dogs and we had another friend come with another dog so tatol we had 8 dogs! It was lots of fun!

The lyrics on this page come from a song by Taking Back Sunday, it says: I've got strong will just weak hands and I don't know what to do with either one of them.

Here is a close up of my first little art quilt! It is not done but getting close! On Saturday Samntha Kira and I met for coffee and she brought me a quilt blank and this is what I have done with it so far! Samie's is amazing but she is on her second and I am on my first, so we will see what happens!

Well hope you all have a great rest of your Monday or even Tuesday by now!

Let me tell you a story...

So on Saturday I turned 31.... wow 31! I had a really amazing birthday I met Samie Kira for coffee and she showed me how to make an art quilt and I actually really love how it is coming along! We also went to the scrapbook store and I got some cute things to go into the hair flowers I sell (I will show you tomorrow). After that my wife and sister and I went to paint pottery, went to dinner and then went to the casino! We played black jack until almost three in the morning! I had a wonderful birthday, but it also reminded me of what I was going through twenty years ago.

Just a few weeks before finishing sixth grade I became really ill. I had a brain tumor, it was the size of a golf ball and it had made it's home on the left side of my brain right behind my left eye. I never understood the seriousness of what was happening at the time, I did not realize I could die, lose vision in one eye or even both. I was in the hospital for two weeks and I woke up comepletly blind in my left eye and bald - bald right before junior high. I still vividly remekber saying goodbye to my parents while they waited for me to go to surgery and for me to fall asleep.  My life has been impacted by this in so many ways, from my weight, to my self conciousness to being a miserable teenager and becoming the adult I am now.

Now onto the lighter side, I am starting thirty days of blogging, which will be difficult since I already put off writing blogs! The idea for this came from Diana Trout  I know I can do it, so I am starting today June fifth and will end July fifth ! Alright I will be back tomorrow will some fun things for you!
