Sickness and sadness....

The past week has been probably one of the worst weeks ever! Last Friday I woke up and threw up everything I ate for dinner the night before and was ill all weekend!

During the week our dog Rusty slowly but surely lost all control of his back legs, he was 10 and after a trip to the vet we knew we had to put him to sleep. Luckily we have an AMAZING vet and she came to the house to put him to sleep. This happened yesterday and I am so sad and very much missing him right now but I am also trying to stay strong for my wife she has had him all of his life and I have had him since I met her six years ago. He went with friends and family surrounding him which is the best way to go I think.  I miss him and I don't know if I will ever NOT miss him...

Well no onto the art, I haven't done much this week, my craft room has been a bit abandoned due to me being sick and having to take care of a dog who could no longer doing anything on his own. But last night to cope, I worked in my journal and the rest were done last week.

I wanted to learn how to draw roses so these are the results!

You can be my lucky star

Take a chance you owe it to yourself

making my dreams a reality

Well thanks for taking a look, I will be back Monday with more! Have a great weekend!

  1. So sorry to hear about your little pal. We lost our beautiful black lab a number of years ago but I still think of her often and now with 2 "ancient" cats I wonder how much longer they will be with us. They really do take up a large part of our hearts. I hope you start feeling better, crazy how things all hit at once. Your artwork has not suffered and looks amazing, Take A Chance, is my fav! I'm sending positive vibes your way, have a great upcoming week!

  2. So very sorry to hear about your beloved dog, bless his furry feet. I do think that's absolutely wonderful though that the vet was willing to come to your home, so he was in his favourite place with his favourite people. x

  6. Take a chance speaks to me especially today as that's what I need to do with my art.

Your compositions are not overcrowded, but with space around and through them....I like that!

So sorry for your pup...we have an old, 16 years, cattle dog and she's blind and deaf but still thinks she's a pup! I don't know how much longer "Fya" can last but she's healthy still and the vet says she's still happy. I love the idea that your vet came to your home, that would have been so peaceful for Rusty and much less fretfull for yourselves too.

We also have 2 'ancient' cats....

  8. Sorry to hear about your dog. They are sure a part of the family. We have a 12 year old spaniel who we just found out has kidney failure, so it is a matter of time. I love your suggestion of the vet coming to the house. I thank you so much for sharing it. We will miss her terribly....we won't be able to be as strong as you.

Sorry you were sick the weekend...I hate losing time like that. In the meantime your roses are just gorgeous & why not have your own. Cost a lot less !!!
As I flipped down I also saw some very creative hearts that I could find some extras on that I would never thought of...
I am so glad I came here today...
Take very good care Rebecca. You & your wife will be in my thoughts !

  9. Thank you for the lovely comments and I had fun drawing and painting those roses, something different for me! Rusty our dog that passed has a brother the same age and he has tumors galore, we used to keep track and check every one but at this point he is almost 11, so we just let him be, especially since he is probably counting down the days til he can be with his brother again <3 I will keep your 12 yr old spaniel in my thoughts as well...

  11. I am so sorry about your dog! I recently lost my cat and thought I would die from depression. It's still not easy to think about, but at least I'm not crying all the time.
