Summer Frame DIY

Hi friends! Hope you are all having a fabulous day I know I am! I just wanted to share a little project with you that I whipped up the other day! It's super fun and simple and will look fantabulous in anyone's home!
I had this cute frame I bought from Michael's ages ago and finally decided to put it to use! The first thing I did was paint it teal (a favorite color in our house!) I then found some cute Jar stamps and found some of my favorite paper!

I stamped all the papers with my cute Mason Jar stamp also found at Michael's! I cut all 12 of the jars and and simply stung them with some yellow twine! I added some cute letters and a few flowers and voila! So simple and easy and the best part is that I can take the jars off and put a new banner up there at any time!
Well I hope you enjoyed my little project! Are you making anything fun for the summer? Feel free to share below! Have a great day friends!

Altered Clipboard

Hi there! Hope you are having a great day! I am here to share just a fun little tutorial! You can do this project in less than an hour and it is super cute!

I found this cute burlap clipboard at Michael's its made by Tim Holtz and comes with lots of fun embellishments BUT they weren't really my style so I went ahead and made it my own!

I started with the blank burlap clipboard and used this awesome Heidi Swapp stencil with white spray ink!

I also painted the actual clip a metallic black, added some hot pink around the edges and a bit here and there. I used my black stamp pad to add some black around the edge of the clipboard!

I added an inked up flower, some feathers and gems and voila done! I love how it turned out! Well I hope you enjoyed my little project have a great day and happy arting friends!

Mixed Media Bow Garland

Hello Fiends! Well if you know me at all you know I collect paper like its going out of style, especially random painted papers! So I decided to raid my stash and make a cute bow garland to brighten up my craft space!

I grabbed some random papers and used my Silhouette to cut out the bows. Don't have a die cutting machine? No worries, I will link to an awesome printable template at the end of this post!

I just used some glue dots and put together all my bows, I then decided to add a pop of neon with some of my grandmothers handwriting papers that I just simply copied onto scrapbook paper!

I have a specific "glue gun tray" that I used to keep from destroying my desk! I simply just added a dot of hot glue to the center back of the bows, keeping the spacing somewhat in mind.

I added some hot pink distress ink to the edges of the bows to give them a little pop of color and then it was time to hang it up on my dresser! I just used some glue dots to keep everything in place!

Super cute, easy and fun! Here is a bow template that you can print at use at home! Here and here is the link to the cut files I used as well! I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial, happy crafting friends!

Gelli Print Pillow Box

Hi friends! I hope you all are having a great day and a happy holiday season! Today I am bringing you a super simple (but super cute) tutorial on how to make a pillow box for little gifts and treats! Lets get started!

Things you will need:
An empty toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll cut in half)
Gesso or white paint
Paint of your choosing
Gelli Arts Gel Plate
Stencils
Brayer
Fun things like ribbons and anything else you might want to decorate your box with!

I started out by sanding off as much of the left over tissue and then applied two coats of gesso

Now starts the fun! I got out my Gelli Arts gel printing plate and used hot pink first

Next I decided to do some fun green polka dots!

Then I added some teal, after the teal I added a coat of Pearl glazing medium just to add a bit of shimmer!

Fold the two ends into each other and your ready to decorate!
I added a doily, some seam binding and tulle to tie it all together and thats it! Super simple and now you have a cute box to give a small gift in! You would never even guess it was a toilet paper roll! Well I hope you all enjoyed my tutorial have a great day friends!

Fun with Acrylic Skins

So I have been reading up on Acrylic skins and I have really been wanting to try it out so I thought I would document my little experiment and share it with you! (Let me just say I have made two more of these! Its a bit addicting!) Alright lets get started

Things you need

  • a Transparency (I used a 12x12 sheet protector)
  • Acrylic Paint (I used my high flow acrylics by Golden)
  • Liquitex Glazing Medium
  • Any other fun things you can throw in there! (glitter, puffy paint stamps maybe?)

First spread out some of the glazing medium onto your surface (whether it be a transparency etc.) Don't worry about it being perfectly even it will settle overnight!

Now add drops of color into your glazing medium! Keep going til its just about full of color! I then just swirled some of the paint together with a toothpick! Then let it dry overnight!

After it dries overnight it will be clear, I let mine dry two days just to be safe but that's all up to you! It will pull up really easily and feel almost like a taffy so be careful it will stick together!

I used some black puffy paint to write all over mine and  then cut a heart out of it and put it in my journal! I love that its transparent! So many possibilities! Let me know if you try it out and I will see you soon! Happy Arting!
