Just a bit of an update!

Hi there! I hope you all are having a great spring so far! I have quite a few pages to share with you all so lets get started!

I started using my Moleskin journal for Glue it Tuesdays over at Artsyville's blog, I am having lots of fun so far!

I worked on this spread until the wee hours last night (4am to be exact) I really love the message that came through oh and I LOVE the neon! This page is also for the Sodalicious challenge!

At the Renaissance festival a few weeks ago I got this really awesome handmade journal and I just love working in it! It's much larger than any other journal I have worked in but I am really enjoying it!

Well I hope you are all having a great week! Talk to you soon!

Smashbook Sunday with a fun tutorial!

Hi friends! I am here with another quick tutorial for making your own sticker paper with stamps! I took like five minutes to do and I made a few tags and heart stickers out of it!

So here is what you need-
  • Sticker paper
  • Stamps
  • Die cut machine or stencils
  • Your favorite stamp pad

Start stamping randomly, working your way around the paper freely

Once you are happy with your paper, you can run it through your favorite die cutting machine, or use  a stencil!

Here is what I cut out, plus I have some leftover too!

Here is my finished page, I painted my hearts teal and viola cute stickers for your smashbook!

Try doodling a full sticker page and you can cut those into fun shapes as well!
To make 3-D stickers you could layer stickers with foam dot adhesives!
Most of all have fun!

Have a great week and I will see you soon!

Discoveries made in the Process....

Hi friends, hope everyone is doing well! Just a quick update, sharing some new pages and such, I will be back on Friday with a new fun 5 minute tutorial!

Lately I have had a lot on my mind, friendship, forgivness, being open to new possibilities and self love. You can tell in my journal pages that I have been writing a lot more than usual.

do you have periods of time where you feel more reflective? Feel like you need to get everything out, the good and bad?

Well I thing we all have go through things that make us think, make us evolve and learn who we are, maybe I am learning from my mistakes....

What is on your mind this week? Make sure to take time out of your day to reflect, journal and of course get some paint on your fingers! See ya Friday!

Project Fall day one - Give Thanks mini book tutorial!

Hi friends, I have been gone for awhile but only because we very suddenly had to move houses! It is a huge long story and I am just so happy to be settled and ready to create in our new home! I am starting a new project for November, called Project fall, it is two weeks of fun projects from today til the day after Christmas! I hope you all enjoy! So today is Day one and the project is a give thanks mini journal/scrapbook! I am using it to write the things I am thankful for all this month! So here we go!

My finished book measures 5inches long by 6 inches tall obviously you can choose what works best for you!

First I cut all of my papers down to 10x6 inch pieces and then folded them in half

I then burnished them with the end of my scissors

I added tags and random strips of paper

After this I would up with two sections of paper each with four pieces of paper

I took the first section and opened to the middle, I measured the six inches and marked in the center at the 1 inch and 5 inch

Do the same thing with both signatures add the cover and poke through there as well

Grab your needle and book binding thread and start on the outside cover and poke your needle into the book
poke needle into the other side and come back around to the front
Tye your string as tight as possible and your done! Just a note I did each signature right outside of the center line on the cover, which is why it is tied on one side and not in the middle of the book!

I hope you all enjoyed the tutorial, I will be back tomorrow with another fun project for you all, questions and comments always welcome! Have a great day!

Wow it's June already?

Hello friends, how are you? I hope your summer is going well, I know mine is! My birthday was just on the fourth and well I still CANNOT believe I am 32! I had an amazing birthday, I got a new sewing machine and lots of fun fabric! ON TOP OF THAT... my wife signed me up for Dream Big and the Creativity Unleashed video kit club with Traci Bautista! So far I am really loving it and feel so full of inspiration from them!

What is inspiring you right now? Is it a class, a color, the weather, a friend or maybe a new discovery?

I am also REALLY getting back into scrapbooking and papercrafting in general! I even created a new blog just for scrapbooking and papercrafts. When it is up and running I will be more than happy to share the link with you!

Lastly here are some new journal pages!

Can you tell I am STILL so in LOVE with color! I don't actually know if that will ever change, playing with color and texture are the best parts of art journaling, for me!

What do you love about art journaling?

Alright friends that is all from me today but I will be back soon! Have a GREAT day!

Art Journaling is a SMASHing good time!

Hi friends! I hope everyone is doing well! I have been super busy with work as well as THREE new dogs!  We adopted two goldendoodle puppies and took in a 13 year old dog! Needless to say life has been a bit crazy but on to the fun stuff!

I am so in love with my SMASHbook!
I am having such a great time working in my smashbook, granted I only have a few pages done but I love them! I love that I am taking my old passion of scrapbooking and my passion of art journaling and putting them together! So if you have a chance try it out, there are so many great ideas for using smashbooks! Here are some blogs with some fun ideas for using a smashbook

My Art Journal has been well a bit neglected...... BUT I am slowly getting myself back into it as well as experimenting, playing and just having fun with it! My new love is watercolors, I love the cool effects you can achieve with them! I will be doing a little watercolor tutorial for you really soon! I am still such a sucker for bright colors and painted doodles, I could sit for hours and doodle with paint it seems! Here are some recent pages!

Challenge yourself this week and try some new things in your journal
  • Use some scrapbook paper in your art journal
  • Doodle with your paintbrush
  • Use your favorite art supply in a new way
Please check out Samantha Kira's post about our fun art picnic over here
Well friends that is all from me tonight but I will be back soon so stay tuned!
